Spartans' First T20 Victory Powered by Captain’s All-Round Display!

All T2O games are being played away; two matches on one day!
GAME 1 @ 11:30 - 2:30 in Snoqualmie, WA
The Spokane Spartans delivered a controlled bowling performance, restricting Bellevue Smashers to 103 all out in 18.4 overs. T2O captain Dhruv Yadav led with an outstanding 4/17, while Hrishikesh Joshi, Rahat Bhatia, and the vice-captain, Paramjot Heer, took two wickets each. Spartan Star Player, Param, was particularly economical, conceding just 9 runs in four overs, as the bowling unit kept the opposition under constant pressure.
After a steady 39/1 in 7 overs, Dhruv took charge, finishing unbeaten on a brilliant 43 off 30 balls (3 fours, 3 sixes; SR 143.33). Krishna Jayaraman anchored the innings with 26 off 29, while Rishi (11 off 12), Param (7 off 4) and Wasil Khan (7 off 7, including a six) made valuable contributions. Chasing 104, the Spartans reached 107/5 in 16.4 overs, winning by five wickets with 20 balls to spare.

Although the middle-order batters made an effort to score a reasonable number of runs, the Spartans still lost the second match. Rishi's all-around performance with the bat (30 runs) and with the ball (2 wickets) wasn't enough to help the team win. Spartans did end up taking six wickets; never mind...next time!
