Opposition Wanted Runs, Spartans Had Other Plans!

The Spartan bowlers took control from the very first over, never allowing the opposition batters a moment to settle.

Leading the charge was destroyer-in-chief, Sankar, whose superb spell of 4 for 10 turned the innings into a stump-hitting exhibition. Every time a batter looked like surviving, Sankar had other ideas—and usually a clean-bowled celebration to follow. At the other end, Param played the perfect sidekick, grabbing 3 for 11 as the pair combined for 7 wickets while giving away just 21 runs.
With a couple of run-outs adding to the chaos, the innings wrapped up at 66 all out in 29.5 overs, capping off a dominant all-round display from the Spartans.
The batting card tells its own story: no opposition batter reached double figures; the highest score was just 7. In fact, the biggest contributor was the extras column, which scored 30 runs—nearly half the total—while the batters managed only 36 between them.
Chasing a modest target of 67, the Spartans kept things simple and efficient. Bhagat and Gaurava laid the foundation with patient knocks of 15 each, before Chirag, who debuted today, finished the job in style with an unbeaten 15, including the only six of the innings. Fittingly, extras once again played a starring role, contributing 20 runs as the Spartans reached 67/3 in just 15.2 overs to complete a comfortable victory and cap off a dominant all-round performance.
