Two of our in-form all-rounders were unavailable due to family commitments, and a couple of players were returning for their first game of the season after time away for the same reason. So what?
Spartans posted 109 after battling through 39.1 overs in the heat and then bowled 32 overs trying to defend it. The batters struggled, and the bowlers had a rough day. So what?
The team had to adjust its dynamics, and the overall balance wasn’t ideal to take on one of the bracket’s top contenders. So what?
SPCC cricket has always been about more than wins and losses. It’s about showing up, playing hard for nearly six to seven hours, and then sharing laughs and drinks afterward—together. That is what it is!

It was a low-scoring game, and irrespective of the results, we celebrate these Spartans today. Ram led the scoring with 14 runs, while Pawan—new to the squad—chipped in with nine runs as the 10th batter. Sumeet broke the wicket drought in the 17th over and took the first wicket. Sankar, still jetlagged from landing just three days ago from India, managed to contribute a few runs at a 100% strike rate and also picked up a wicket.
Come the next game, they regroup, refocus, and get ready to play this fun game of cricket!
